Detlef Maltas, DPT

Detlef joined Stadia Sports Medicine in January, 2011. He is a graduate from the University of Iowa’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Prior to attending Iowa, he received his B.S. from Bradley University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Health Science. Detlef’s professional interests include orthopedic and sports physical therapy and rehabilitation, injury prevention, and functional training to return patients to work and sport. Detlef appreciates the importance of manual physical therapy techniques in rehabilitation and has been ASTYM certified since 2011. Also of interest are how nutrition and respiration impact exercise and rehabilitation. At this time, he is actively pursuing specialty certification in the area of sports physical therapy. Detlef is a current member of the APTA, IPTA, and the Sports Physical Therapy Section, where he is active in the sports performance and running special interest groups.
